Session Fees
We are committed to providing afforable and accessible services and have set the cost for a 50 minute individual counselling session at $190 which is well below the recommended fee of $251 (Australian Psychological Society). In line with our values of acessibility, we have a sliding fee scale and are happy to discuss our lower fees for those suffering finacial hardship (including those holding concession cards).
The cost of sessions can also be made more afforable if you are eligible for a mental health care plan or have relevant private health insurance. Those options are detailed next...I have a GP Referral (Mental Health Care Plan)
Your General Practitioner may have, or may be able to, provide you with a mental health care plan that will allow you to see a Psychologist for 20 sessions per year. The current medicare rebate for a mental health care plan is $88.25, which reduces your out of pocket cost to $101.75.Private
You do not need a referral (health care plan) to see a Psychologist if you wish to pay privately. The fee is $190 per 50 minute session. You may be able to claim a rebate from your private health insurer if you have coverage in your plan. The rebate from a private health fund will vary and should be checked directly with the relevant fund.Workcover
The Change Room is a registered provider for WorkCover and is able to see clients under this referral process. You will need to ensure that psychological intervention is covered by your claim. This is best achieved through contacting your claims manager.
